Eggs Hatched, Eggs Laid!
We don't breed very many ball pythons, so this was really exciting for us.
On Wednesday, our two little surprise eggs pipped! They came from Betty, a normal we picked up in Portland, along with another female, Lyla, and a mojave that they'd spent some time with back in November. Betty surprised the crud out of us with two eggs and three slugs. Scrambling around in the middle of the night to get the incubator up and running, priceless.
Both appeared to be struggling, so we helped out, slitting their slashes a little wider, and BOOM they were out like lightning! BOTH mojaves, one male and one female! I've wanted a female mojave FOREVER, so this is a really big event for me!
The Boy:

And our little girl:

And not minutes after our little mojos flew their eggy-prisons, we discovered Tinyfeet in the process of laying her eggs, finally!

She was waiting for the incubator to be empty, we decided. Which she didn't have to do, we were pretty excited to fire up the new big one (we hooked it up to the thermostat and checked it earlier this year), but we can't justify the beast for one clutch. She laid six beautiful eggs, no slugs, all candled nicely, although I have my eye on one. The veins are a little bit skinny and weak, but it looks like there might be big strong ones at the bottom.

I'm so excited! Daddy's such a handsome yellowbelly, one of my favorite morphs (I like the subtle ones, what can I say?). Both parents (unrelated) are 66% possible hets for caramel. We gotta win the lottery sometime, but we're just hoping for healthy, robust little babies.
Talk about a weird day! I think this might be our last clutch for the season. With our boas getting ready to drop in a few months, that's probably for the best, lol!
OH, one question. We have one egg that has a perfect little mass with gorgeous veins on one side, then an absolute blank stripe down the middle, and the same thing on the other side, perfect little mass with lovely veins. The middle's just completely clear. Is this normal, or could it be indicative of twins? Just something weird we noticed...

Thanks everyone!
The mojaves are blowing my mind, they're so cute! They weighed in within a gram of each other, 74 and 75.

Wow! Hatchlings AND eggs all in one day. You can't beat that! Congrats!
I'm interested in knowing if that one egg you mentioned is twins also.
