    What type of ball?!

Well 6 more days till i get home and get set up my ball python cage but still wondering what morph i should get. I am considering a spider but the wobble kinda intimidates me and for a first snake i feel like i don't want stress it out and make the wobble worse. Thinking of getting a normal, but my question is does anyone have any suggestions of a good beginner morph (meaning under 200$ and is know to be easier care).

    Re: What type of ball?!

There's quite a variety of male morphs available for under and around $200.
Yellow belly, Cinnamon, Black pastel, Granite, Pastel and a few others probably that fall into that range.
Nothing wrong with starting out with a normal either, I'm sure there's a lot of people that will tell you one of their favorites is still a normal, even people with alot of morphs

My favorite "inexpensive" morph is the yellow belly

Spiders are great, don't worry about the wobble. Go with what ever morph you like the best. You can even find some really cool ones like a mojave for close to $200.

I personally think a bright yellow pastel is a great looking snake. You can find male pastels for around $75. Mojaves are also very pretty and can sometimes be found for under $200.

In the end it is your decision. Buy the one that catches your eye!

    Re: What type of ball?!

Most breeders wouldn't sell you a spider if the wobble got bad enough to become detrimental to the snake... especially if it's your first ball. Most spider's have a very mild wobble, and the ones that spin or corkscrew are never really harmed by it. It's really just a quirk more than anything else. My spider's wobble is not mild, though you can definately tell he's got it, but he eats just fine and on schedule, he sheds perfectly, and he's in top health despite the fact that he corkscrews for a few minutes every once in a while (usually after eating or cleaning day like most spideys do).

Don't let it scare you away from getting a spider IMO, they're one of the best morphs out there, and absolutely gorgeous to boot.

But then again, I've never seen an ugly ball python so whatever morph you decide on is going to be pretty awesome.

Spider's are beautiful, if that's what you like then go for it! In your price range I'd be pretty happy to stick with a normal, they're a beautiful snake!

Spiders are usually a pretty easy-going morph, and tend to be good eaters (there are always exceptions). I wouldn't worry about the wobble, if you like them.

    Re: What type of ball?!

Thanks for all the replies i am like 100% on a spider the wobble scared me but i will ask my local breeder if theirs show signs. Also i want a younger snake (like a hatchling, either way i think my local breeder feeds his snakes 4 times before he sells so it would be what 8 weeks or older anyways but a hatchling none the less) but i have been reading that they are harder to take care of is this true?

I personally try to get people to buy well established yearlings if they have never owned a snake before or if they are a little skittish. But if you have a well started cbb with a good set up it should be no problem.

    Re: What type of ball?!

The more they've eaten before you buy them the better. My first snake (a pastel) had only eaten 2-3 times before I took her home, and that was a big mistake for being a newbie. Errors on my part led her to not eat for the first 2-3 weeks I had her, I was scared. I would go through it again cuz she's awesome, but I just wish I had bought her and had them feed her a few more times before I brought her home.

It's likely you won't encounter the same error I did as I was given bad information from the breeder. But, I would still go with a BP that has eaten at least 4 times.
