    Newbie with another question

So like i said in an earlier post my ball python (whom ive only had for 4 days) was in the 3-7 day stage of shedding im pretty sure.... his belly was pink and his eyes were that cloudy blue color and hes been in his hide the entire four days... i was told that he is due for a feeding on friday... but i read that during a shed they shouldnt eat? So if he hasnt shed by friday should i not feed him... and how long after he has shed should i go ahead and feed him?

    thanks:]

Some snakes will eat during shed and some won't. The only way to know for sure is to offer. If you don't want to take a chance of wasting a rat, then wait till the shed is done. Some will eat immediately after a shed. I usually wait till the day after just to give them some time to relax after the shed...

I would just wait one week from the day you got the snake, especially if it is in shed and not an established animal.

    Re: Newbie with another question

Too many times newbies are in a hurry to watch their snake eat a mouse. I would say that getting the snake into a new home and being in shed on top of that your snake is stressed out pretty bad. Wait until the snake has shed and then give it a few more days. It isn't going to starve and putting more undue stress on the snake might hurt it more than trying to feed it early.
Too many snakes to list. Ball pythons, Gtp's and Boa's. It easier to say it that way.
