How long does it take a female to build follicles (from onset of development to ovulation)? Has anyone documented it with an ultrasound?

Also, I know that finding a female wrapped around her bowl can mean building and possible ovulation in the future. About how long do you expect to see an ovulation after signs of bowl wrapping/staying on the cool side of the tub? Is it highly variable from female to female, or is there a ballpark timeframe?
