    Biggest Rats

I have males that are growing very fast. I'm sure they will never be as big as some of the males out there but I consider them to be some of the biggest I've ever had. One male is about 2.5 months old and weighed 323g this morning. He's going to be a big boy. So what are your biggest boys and girls? Pictures would be fun.

Wholey Moley that's bigger than my pinstripe!

I don't have any rats, but I've seen some pretty big ones at PetSmart... They kinda creep me out, so I don't have any pictures, lol.

    Re: Biggest Rats

My other male is almost 6 months old and when I weighed him at 5 months old he was 403g. He's been away for 3 weeks, breeding with one of my sister's female rats. He comes home tomorrow, so I will get a new weight on him.

    Re: Biggest Rats

Guess no one wants to play. Creampuff, my bigger male, lost some weight while at my sister's house. She used a different food while he was there and only recently switched to Mazuri, so I'm not that surprised.

I had a female hit 450 grams (1 Pound) once. I think the record is 1.5 pounds for any norway rat.

    Re: Biggest Rats

Now that Creampuff has been home eating his normal food, he's gaining weight again. He is 6 months old now and weighed in at 430g and he's still growing. Bradley, the male I got from my friend is at 373g and he is around 3 months or so old.

    Re: Biggest Rats

The one I chose as a pet was born in a litter of only 3. He was literally a rolely polely fat baby from the day he was born. Had folds and was the pudgiest pinkie I had ever seen. He is about 2 months old now and looks like a 4 month old. Hes all brown with a more round face than most norways. Looks like a long tailed teddy bear! I'll have to weigh him. Im sure he's going to be a nice big boy.

    Re: Biggest Rats

Last time I weighed any of our males the biggest was a little over 700 grams. He grew a little more after that but not much.
