Light and Temp
Trying to get the temp/humidity accurate; the more we read the care sheet here and some posts, the less it looks like the pet store employees know........
A ball python does not need a special basking light? just as long as it is getting a light/dark cycle. The tank is in a room that gets sunlight during the day.
If we do use a light to provide "daytime", what type is recommended?
Thanks!

Re: Light and Temp
If the room gets regular daylight, that is all you need. Just make sure the enclosure isn't setting where the sun can shine diretctly through the window and into the tank. If you want to use a light, then you can just leave the regular room lights on. You don't need any special UV bulbs...

Re: Light and Temp
Mine don't really have a daylight. I use curtains, that let in enough light. My curtains are dark blue too. They are more night snakes, so they don't need any type of UV if that's what you are thinking.
And no, most of the time pet store employees don't know what they are talking about. Belly heat is more important to a ball python. They don't bask at all, since they are nocturnal.
I wouldn't use a bulb at all, unless you are having trouble keeping the ambient temps 75 and 80.
