    Update on Rescues

Nyoka, the ball python will have a vet visit tomorrow morning. We will be asking the vet about her eye and scale rot. I was thinking of feeding her and the corn snake in a few days, or should I wait a week after tomorrow? I'm not sure when they were fed last. Neither of them had the small "lump" in their bellies that would show they had eaten, but of course their only meals were two mice each every 3 weeks.

Good luck with the vet visit. You could probably try feeding 2-3 days after the vet visit. The worst they can do is refuse, in which case, it will still be a week before you offer again. I would imagine they would eat, unless they got some kind of antibiotics at the vet...

Just another little update. Nyoka went to the vet. The vet said the eye that has so many eye caps on it should be fine once the eye caps come off. He also said that she had a slight bacterial infection under her belly scales but it wasn't serious enough that she would require antibiotics. (After being here for only a few short days, Nyoka's belly has improved 100x over. Where it used to look very irritated and red/pink is now looking almost normal.)

She was probed as female and weighs around 980g (according to the doc's scale) She is estimated at 5 years old (that is how long the woman who owned them had them). She will be fed in a few days and hopefully she will start to gain some size.

    Re: Update on Rescues

I know! I was shocked when I weighed her! I can't wait to start getting some weight on her. She is such a mellow snake, but I can definitely tell she is hungry. I was thinking of starting her off with a small meal and then graduate up to a small rat, then my friend wants to put her on f/t.
