    Stuck shed question

I'm currently taking care of two, healthy blue tongue skinks at the moment that are not handled very often, so they are a little skittish.

Well, I took them out and held them a while today and noticed that they both have old skin stuck around their ears and legs. I tried to gently rub off the skin, but they both jumped as if I had accidentally caused them pain. I'm not really experienced with lizards so I thought I'd ask you guys what I can do. Would soaking them help?

    Re: Stuck shed question

I have monitors, and I soak them in the bath tub when they have trouble shedding. Not together of course. Then when the stuck shed is loose, I gently rub it, and if it doesn't come easily I will soak them a little longer.

    Re: Stuck shed question

i wouldnt worry about the skin around there ears that will eventually come off. the skin around legs though its important to get off cause they can lose there toes. i soak mine in the tub with warm water and then gently roll the skin off there legs and toes. if you soak them the skin will get very lose and should roll off with very little pressure. need any other help feel free to contact me.
