    Female about to shed

Akina has had huge follicles for a while now. (golf ball sized) I have not seen an ovulation. She is going into a shed cycle right now. She is getting really dark. My pastel is in with her right now. Do they usually shed soon before ovulation?

Well, you could have missed an ovulation. If she had golf ball sized follicles a couple weeks ago and is sheddding right now, I would be prepared for eggs in 30 days. Keep us posted...

    Re: Female about to shed

Hmm, I check her every single day. I'm not sure if she was refusing the male the other day or not. He had his tail along side hers but I don't think it was a lock. When I checked on them a few hours later to change water, he was on the other side of the tub. She did not refuse her meal though. She ate a small rat last night.
