    Omg! Omg! She ateee!!

i don't know if y'all remember my post about my normal BP that got lost for 8 months and was found about a week ago with an RI and very thin, well, she is doing good, got her 2nd shot of amikacin [[1 shot every 3 days]], but she had been refusing to eat, i was at a point where i was getting ready to call the vet and have him tube feed her, well today, for about the millionth time, i tried again... she eats f/t large mice, but i bought a live one to entice her to eat, well i put it in her cage, and he went crazy, and tried to attack my BP [[don't worry, i was there with my tongs ready to keep him away, well the snake wasn't having no damn mouse freak out on her, so she striked, i started but then, after she had killed him she dropped him and i was sooo..i left for about 30 minutes [[go pour myself a nice margarita ]] and i came back to find the mice gooneeee...and her with a little bump i don't know if she'll keep it down, for now im just going to leave her alone and don't mess with her cage, i'll check tomorrow to make sure she didn't regurgitate, but yeah, im definitely more confident that she is in the path to recovery...she is also not spitting up mucus anymore or wheezing...i have 3 more doses of amikacin, but im hoping after that we'll be done and i can continue to spoil her

that is very good news. glad to hear that. amikacin works good for RI's but u may need more than prescribed. i have given my snake a lot of amikacin and it came back. now she is almost better. make sure u keep the humidity high cuz it dehydrates them and can hurt their kidneys.

really?.. how could i get more, do i just call the vet, cause if i just take her in i would have to pay the $80 for the consul plus the $30 of the medicine....he said she only needed 5 doses, and after the first one she looked much better...i have her humidity at 65%

keep an eye on her. and when u have one shot left u dont want any signs of an RI. if she still has signs then call and tell ur vet before ur last shot is gone. she may only need 5, i was given 7 and it didnt get rid of it. i did 7 more and nothing. tried oral baytril and nothin and now i have a stockpile of amikacin and its almost gone.
