Its not a retic, so why on earth are you comparing it to one?
It sounds like you are making retics out to be big bad snakes....
which they already have a bad rep, so why further the stereotype?

Sort of like news articles making Afrocks out to be evil and out for blood after some were found in south Florida, mostly implying that through hybrid vigor (which I believe is a severely flawed theory) that they'll hybridize to form a super snake that will get bigger and super mean, in spite of captive breeding efforts for the same hybrid which completely contradict that idea.
For any species, if there aren't many in captivity, they are likely to be a bit more aggressive than those that have been bred for several generations, simply due to the higher number of WC animals people are working with. Does that mean that it is an aggressive species by nature? No. Someone's got to start somewhere with any species. Neither retics nor afrocks are aggressive by default. I've seen examples of each (many more so with retics) that were baby dolls and a pleasure to work with. I'm under the firm belief that pretty much any species with regular handling from a young age will be very handleable at somewhat larger sizes.
All that said, she is a beautiful snake, and hopefully with some more work and patience, you will at least get her used enough to handling for it not cause her to get defensive.

I don't think she meant anything negative by it.
Anyway, I had an evil pet BCI and what I did was trade him to a breeder who didn't care about his temperament. So I can't really help you, but I do wish you luck.

Re: so yeah
I can see my phrase was taken way out of context...FYI Retics do happen to be my fav snake....I have seen several retics with strong feeding responses, several that were big babies such as one I worked with in St. Louis he was about 16 feet and laid on a guinea pig cause it annoyed him. My snake as beautiful as she is...is just straight mean I can take her out on one of her good days and hold her with out musking and such, though they are few and far between. Yet as soon as someone walks by at that point I am playing catch the flying 5.5 foot snake...honestly thats a lot of snake she's four inches longer than me
