    Making Payments?

Is this a normal thing when you get a snake from a breeder?

Making payments sounds like a good thing to me especially when i don't like to fork all that money would @ one time. What can i say, i am hard on spending :]

    Do most breeders do it?

    Re: Making Payments?

Yep many breeders do it. High-end snakes mostly.

I have bought snakes and spent thousands on them individually and 2 different times worked out deals to pay off within 30 days.

As a breeder, I have had people asked me to take payments and I have no problem with it as long as we make the deal and everyone knows the details.

Some breeders will ask for a deposit that is non refundable.
with alot of brreders just ask..whats the worst they will say..no..well at least u tried!
times are hard for everyone right now and most people want to work with others.

    Re: Making Payments?

I think that you will find most breeders will do some sort of payment plan. If they have a website it's most likely noted in the terms. There are times when they won't, especially with certain animals. If they are moving a high end animal with the purpose of buying something high end for their own breeding purposes they may want all of the money up front to cover their purchase.

    Re: Making Payments?

Yes they usually do it on certain morphs. Most wont do it for snakes that say are 100-500 but yet for 1000.

I personally only do payment plans with customers of 1000+ as i dont like dragging things out very long, but like said already we sometimes will not take it as we have our eyes on something and need the money right then so it dont slip away.

Most breeders do payment plans around 30 days. Lay-a-way for reptiles

    Re: Making Payments?

Some do some don't and when people do it varies from one individual to another and some are structured and some not.

For example I do under certain conditions, there is a certain minimum purchase depending on the length of the plan, and a maximum length I am willing to work with.

    Re: Making Payments?

Payment plans tells the customer, I understand not everyone can jsut drop 1500 or even 500.00 on a snake..Many breeders do them, some are more set on the amount of time they require it be paid off..Some are more flexiable..Best just to ask, worst they can do is say no..

    Re: Making Payments?

I'm finishing off a payment plan on a 500 dollar snake next week. There weren’t any days I would be home until mid March, but there was a particular snake I really wanted that was available now. I told the breeder about my situation, and he had no problem with me setting up a payment plan.

    Re: Making Payments?

I have one snake -- a normal BP. I found a breeder that I really liked, and he actually held my snake for a month! It wasn't because I couldn't afford the 40 bucks. I was working on getting my cage built and ready for the snake, and he only had a couple baby's left at the time.

He said he was pretty sure the last of his babies would be sold by the time my cage was ready. I actually paid for the snake right away, but it was still really cool that he held if for me for a month (feeding it, cleaning the tub, etc.) and went through all that trouble for a normal bp. He could have just said "no" knowing that he would probably sell it anyway.

When I am ready to buy another bp (hopefully an albino) I will definitely be buying from him. He has great snakes, but his customer service is what really sold me. So anyway, I would just ask -- you never know what the breeder might work out with you!

    Later,

    George
