HELP! Sudden change in my BP!!
My BP has always been an excellent feeder for 8 months. Recently, within the last week to 10 days, I am unable to get him to feed. I use him loosely as I'm not sure of the sex. I've never had him refuse a feeding, though he has taken his time with feeding before, but never totally refused. Now, he has refused feeding twice. Also, he is spending a lot of time in his hide, which is totally different. Usually he would come out for a good 2 to 3 hours at night. I very rarely see him coming out now. Is there something wrong? Should I consult a vet? Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated as I am beginning to worry about my friend!!
Thanks to all who reply!!!

I wouldn't be too worried yet, some refuse during breeding season.

Yep, I would chalk this one up to breeding season. Though, if you want to list out your temps, how you measure them. Eventually someone will ask for the info.

Re: HELP! Sudden change in my BP!!
Do not worry yet. I have read about snakes going off food for 12 months, just to start eating again one day. I had a kingsnake not eat for 3 months, just to start up again out of the blue. If you are meeting husbandry requirements then do not worry, unless you see other signs of trouble.
Do not try to offer food too often either. Just offer once every 7-10 days as usual.
If you are especially worried, post a picture of the enclosure and list your temps, humidity, etc. Someone will be able to pick out any problems.
Good luck.

I concur with this. My snakes always hide and do not come out when they are in shed.

Re: HELP! Sudden change in my BP!!
well it has only been 10 days. He may simply be not hungry. Don't keep offering food day after day though. Wait a week and then try again.
The hiding bit is perfectly normal. Actually, I only see my snakes out and about on feeding day or the night before.
