    Talking She ended her fast!!!

Recently Snickets has been refusing rats. She started refusing right after I changed her hides, which I thought was weird since the one I switched her to was very tight fitting and I thought was more secure. I changed them again, to flower pots and after I changed them she started acting more like she used to, before the previous ones. I just changed them yesterday, and decided to try to get her to take a mouse today. I didn't have any hopes going into it, but thought I could at least try since I was picking up a feeder for my pin.

It took a while, but she finally took it. I'm so relieved! I know I took a huge chance by changing out her hides one day and offering the next. I'm glad I did it though. Now we'll see if in 7 days, she'll take two mice.

I'm very relieved she took the mouse, and had to share. No one else that I know would understand, lol.

Yeah, apparently she is! But she's been growing out of them so fast I haven't been able to catch up to her until I found these flower pots at Wal Mart. They're closer to what I had her most of her life, so I think that's what did the trick.

Congrats!!! It's so awesome when they stop fasting. Now if only I can get my big girl to start eating again.

As long as my snakes are eating and using their hides, I leave whatever size hide is in there regardless of the size of the snake in comparison. They mostly just wear them as hats now, haha. As long as they are happy!

Omg... Huge relief... The pin didn't eat, but he's a completely different situation. I'm not worried about it.

These little buggers do get you excited when they stop eating. It took me years to learn to just relax. However, now that I'm getting into the more expensive snakes, the urge to worry does creep in once in a while.

    Re: She ended her fast!!!

Normally she's a fantastic eater, and when she suddenly lost interest in eating it really make me think "Omg, what's wrong? Maybe it's just the season. Could it be the hides? Maybe she smells the boys. Did she change her mind to mice?" etc... She's my baby, so it really got me worried. The pin I'm a little more relaxed about since he's just a picky feeder.
