Hurt Leo

I just applied at a petstore and have been there a few days. In the back they have a leo that's been hurt by the other one that they have (probably both males) Its leg is really bad and it will most likely lose it. Its not eating. They offered him to me knowing that i have experience with snakes but i told them i know nothing about leos. I would like to help him but i will need your help here and maybe if i take him an offer from someone to adopt him so they can aid him better. They do have a vet at the pet store but hes not a herp vet so he doesnt know anything about leos. If i do offer to take him whats gonna help him heal and start eating?

How bad is he? Is it an open wound or...can you better describe his injury?

What he will need is a basic set up, nothing too fancy until he heals fully. Paper towel substrate, warm hide, cool hide, humid hide and water bowl. He needs the warm side to be between 88-92 (UTH and thermostat) and the cool side about 10 degrees cooler. I use a ceramic tile on my warm sides, I think it holds the heat better.

The less stress he is under the better, don't bother him except for cleaning and feeding. Offer him crickets, mealworms or superworms. Don't leave crickets running around in the tank, if he doesn't eat them take them back out. You can put mealworms in a small dish.

Pick up some pure calcium, calcium w/D3 and some multivitamins. Dust the feeders in the pure calcium 5 days a week and 1 day each for the D3 and the vitamins. Also leave a milk cap of pure calcium in his tank at all times, he will lick it if he wants.

Thanks for your help, im getting his setup together. When i went in today his leg was black and just hanging on barely so i'm pretty sure its done for, hes not bleeding or anything tho.

It sound like the tissue is necrotic..

He needs to go to a vet. If/when it is infected it can kill him. Does the stump look red and inflammed? Is there any pus? The leg needs to at least be removed (by a vet.)
