    Separate Sterilite Drawers.. Thoughts?

    http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...ct_id=10401061

What do you think? Seem secure.. And there looks to be a space at the bottom for better heat transfer.

The dimensions are close to a 32 quart sterilite tub which I happen to be using now for once of my snakes.

I think this could be a potential "cheap" racking system. One tub ontop of another.. Flexwatt would be attached to the top of each unit so the upper tub gets the heat. Would this cause a problem for the lower tubs?

    Just an idea. Your thoughts?

Looks pretty cool, no way for the snake to get out? You could always go back heat. Run Flexwatt along the back either length wise or straight down the back if you fasten all together!

    Just a thought,

I am going to take a look at them tonight. I was planning on putting little twistie locks on them anyway for added security. If they are as durable as they look I will go out and buy a set of four... That is IF they have them in Canada.

I've never used back heat before, although it would be easier, would it be as good as belly heat for them? (Ball Pythons)

Those are not sturdy, secure, and the plastic is extremely meltable and bendable. Though it looks as if the snakes could not find any outlet to escape those, they can, and very easily. There are a lot of uneven nooks and crannies that they can get wedged up into as well.

Also, it's difficult to take out the bins to clean them if needed. Usually the back of the bin is exposed too.

what your not seeing in that pic is that there is a huge gap inbetween the top of the drawer edge and the shelf top.. I tried those once just as a "holding" tub while I cleaned. Yea I had to take in apart to keep from cutting the snakes head off..

    Stear clear of those..

Thanks for the info. I looked at Walmart and Canadian tire and they do not have these any way. I have a feeling they are only available in the US. I figured they would be unsafe anyhow.

Guess it's back to the original rack plan.
