Do You Think?
Do you think that snakes really do know who you are and do certain things with you than they do with others? Or do you think snakes just get used to being around people and nothing more?

Re: Do You Think?
I think some of them know my smell because they are fairly calm around me but ball up when others handle them. This might be because those people don't know how to handle them or its because they are another big scary monster that is trying to eat them.
I think to some degree they "recognize" you.

Re: Do You Think?
Well, I don't know. I've got a Pied that confuses me with mice. He loves to bite and chew on me. He's getting better. He doesn't leave many teeth in my skin as before. Then I've got this het for albino that thinks he's a stick. He tenses up until he's almost straight. He's never bit me, never hissed, never snapped, but he's as straight as an arrow every time I pick him up. Maybe he's got me confused with Moses (a little attempt at humor concerning the movie, The 10 Commandments.)

Re: Do You Think?
My carpets and my retic will only let me pull them out of their tubs. I pull their hides our, touch their back and they let me pick them up and just curl up around my wrist/hand. If anyone else tries they get hissed at and struck at before the hide is out of the tub. My BP just doesnt care enough i think.

Re: Do You Think?
I think they get used to your scent, but nothing more than that. I just left my snakes for a whole week, and when I got home I picked them all up to inspect them. My pastel took a min to warm up to me. The pinstripe surprisingly didn't hiss, but just wanted food. And the Het Pied wouldn't let me pick him up. He was following my hands like they were rats, he was clearly upset he didn't get fed for one week.
For the most part, they both act the same way whether it's me or my BF holding them.
