Im an idiot almost killed my het lav ball male

Iwas cleaning all my snakes tubs uot last night. I take them to the garage where I have my washing sinks. I was done with all of them and my son was helping me put them back in thier racks when somehow I forgot one (%100 het lavender albino male) he was out there all night and all of today, when my wife went out to do laundry 30 min ago she noticed him on the bench in his tub. I thought he was dead he wasnt moving at all not even using his tongue. It was in the low 50s maybe lower, I immidiately put him under a heat light and warmed him up he seems to be doing fine he is moving around now. Do you think he will be alright is there anything I should do? look for?

The biggest threat would be an RI

Make sure he doesn't start wheezing, making popping sounds, drooling, have excessive sticky/bubbly saliva etc. in the next few days or so.

Just put him back in his usual place once he is all warmed up and check on him daily. It's quite possible he will be just fine as ball pythons are pretty hardy. I'm glad to hear he is moving again!

Yeah only a one time thing he should be fine. $5 says you will never do that again. Glad to hear he seems to be doing well though.

Yeah ty...He seems to be back to normal. I was terrified at first he was so cold he was stiff as a board and very cold. It had to be one of my favorite snakes one of my het lav pair...

Just keep an eye on him, and if your really worried then you should def take him to your vet for a quick look.

I would rather be safe than sorry.

Their very stringent living requirements often make us forget how resilient they can be.

Warming them up too fast can be very bad for them. I would have wrapped him in a towel and let him come up to room temperature, then put him back in his tub over the heat.

Read Ralph Davis' success story with Pladdy Daddy. It's a good story.

Reptiles muscles stiffen up when cold! You should see the news clips on the iguanas in Florida, they were falling off their branches in the wild because of the cold snap they had! Your bp should be okay!
