Super Pastel or Pastave...
If you only had ONE female pastel, and you had a male pastel AND a male Mojave, which one would you breed to her? Would you shoot for super pastels or pastaves? Why?

Re: Super Pastel or Pastave...
Personal choice really,
I'd breed both and shoot for a mixed father clutch myself.
Pastave's would give you the option to shoot for super pastel mojaves (can't remember what they are called sorry ) next season if you get a male. Or in two or three years if you got a female and super pastaves if you raised a pair of siblings to breeding size.
Only using the pastel male nets you possible super pastels in the first generation rather than the second.
Dual stringing the males gives you the chance of everything - pastels, superpastels, mojaves, pastaves and normals.
Just seems like a better idea to me.

Re: Super Pastel or Pastave...
It really depends on where you want to go with your breeding projects.
The advantage of the super is that you know every single one of its offspring will be pastels. This will make it easier to hit combos.
The advantage of the pastave is being one step closer triple gene combo, however, the chance of hitting them is much smaller than hitting a double gene combo using the super pastel.
If you don't have a strong leaning, cycle both males through her and maybe you'll get lucky and get both!

Re: Super Pastel or Pastave...
You just have to look at the punnet square and figure out which clutch is more appealing to you and/or what works best for your projects.
Female super pastels (which you could make lots of with a male Super) are always valuable snakes in a collection. If you have a super pastel female, you can breed it to any new male co-dom or recessive and then make a pastel combo (or pastel het) male to breed back to her in a couple years...that's a fast way to making the super pastel version of whatever morph you get next. And you'll have her year after year. Now just think if you had two....lol
Super Pastel Mojaves would be awesome too...especially if you had plans to get something else that goes well with those two genes, like a spider or pinstripe...or a spinner.
I think I'd have to get both (I'm basically doing the same thing in reverse - Super Mojave and Pastel Mojave).

Re: Super Pastel or Pastave...
I'd go for both, too. A mixed clutch would be cool, but, more importantly, you increase your chances of having a successful breeding season by using both males. You never know which pairing will be more successful.

Re: Super Pastel or Pastave...
I'd also go for both. If you can't deside let nature make the choice! Plus there's always that tiney tiny chance that both fathers will sire the clutch!
