inside the waterbowl
My little girl is sitting completly inside her water bowl. Ive read that thats from mites bugging their skin but Ive had her for 4 months now without seeing any and I just checked her and no mites. Any other reason she could be doing this.
Thanks

Re: inside the waterbowl
She might be getting ready to shed her skin, and soaking would help to loosen it.

Re: inside the waterbowl
Can you describe your setup? A picture would also be very helpful.
Generally ball pythons do not soak. If they are soaking it is probably because of a husbandry error.
1. Check your snake for mites again. Look at the bottom of the water dish and see if the snake drowned any of them. Change your substrate to paper towels so you can see more easily if there are any there.
2. Check your temps. You should be measuring them with a digital thermometer with a probe or a temp gun.
3. Check your hides. If the snake doesn't like its hides, it will sometimes use the waterbowl as a hide instead.
