Id advise away from this stuff as it sometimes contains fertilizers if bought in the large bags, not to mention bugs since its usualy kept outside.

Unless you can find a reptile peat moss then go ahead and try it or try cyprus mulch or coconut husk.

Both are great at keeping up humidity. Its what you like. But be sure when using Cyprus mulch you bake it in oven to kill any bugs that can get in. Once baked your good to go. I have used both and work well.

I use the reptile moss and it works great it bumped my humidity up by about 20-30% when I used terrarium liner. What kind of substrate do you use now. If you want you can use the reptile mulch for substrate and just mist it daily and it holds humidity well and is clean.
