    Pastel or Normal?

I purchased this little guy from a local pet store. He was sold as a normal but i've had him for about 3 months and he's had 3 sheds and each time hes color had gotten brighter and more vibrant. So i want your oppinion. is he just a really bright normal or a dark pastel?

Normal Pastels don't get darker until they age quite a bit.

    Re: Pastel or Normal?

The white balance on your camera is terrible.

But there doesnt seem to be much blushing around the head. And the sides dont seem to have any change in colour to the general peach-y look of typical pastels (mind that specific lines may not have this). There also seems to be no blushing on your snake.

All this leads me to believe you have a normal. Know that normals have a HUGE variety in how they look and a lot can pull off looking like pastels, fires, etc.

Generally if you buy a snake as a normal, thats what it is, and the only time you find out its something different is when you breed it with something and find out it's a het for some recessive trait.

As for your snake getting brighter and more vibrant, you're probably taking better care of him than the pet store was, add in that after every shed your snake will have a nice shine to it from oils left on it after the shed.

Normal. Pastels are yellow! AT least at that age.

Normal If you go and look up other pastels, you'll find that yours looks nothing like one.

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat
