That list does not include royal pythons that I can see.

This is what they had to say about the animals you already have:
"The Lacey Act also requires importers or consignees to 'promptly' export or destroy any prohibited animals or eggs at their own expense."
Um....**** that. If they make pythons illegal and require you to kill or export your snakes from the country, I will officially be a customer of the black market.
That's just ridiculous beyond any comprehension. If I want blacklisted snakes, I'll be procuring them regardless of the legislation.

I havent seen a set vote date yet, so start sending your senators emails and phone calls advising them on your opinion

The ban does not stop you from keeping them and breeding them from what i have read. Just can not pass across state lines unless with permit for medical, science, educational purpose. They will not make you kill your pets at all.

Correct me if I'm wrong here but how I understand it what happened here is that the comittee approved it to go to vote in the senate. So it's still got a ways to go but if the comittee didn't think it could pass then they probably wouldn't have approved it.
Could being the operative word here, we still have a fighting chance to let our representatives know how strongly we are opposed to this. I had all of my neighbors and freinds and family that would, write, call and fax opposition this bill to their representatives. Just to spread the oppostion of this bill to as many representatives by THEIR constituents as I could.

I'm glad that ball pythons haven't been included on that list yet but I fear that'll be the next step. I agree with whoever said they'd go pro black market if this ridiculous crap passes. I'll be doing the same.

I read that they would require you to destroy them on the ReptileChannel, but it might be an old link since it says "Proposed Python Ban"?

It doesn't look like it includes the ball python but this would still be terrible if passed. I don't own any of the above listed animals but the fact is the government is trying to take our liberties away from us and the bp may not be included now but that does not mean it wouln't be in the future. I am a libertarian so I oppose any expansion of power of the federal governmant and that is exactly what this is. Bills like these are an unconstitutional expansion of the federal government. The constitution was meant to "limit" the power of the federal government, not to outline how to expand it...wow I got on a roll there for a bit, this kind of crap really gets me going.
