Helped A Friend Overcome Her Fear

Over the weekend one of my friends wanted to hang out. She was with another friend too so we all hung out once I got home from school (I think this was on a Friday). Anywho, my friend tells me to take out one of my snakes. She doesn't really like snakes, but she does kinda like to see them, plus she wanted her friend to see my snake. So, I took out the nicest girl of my collection, Candice (my largest Ball python as well).

I came outside and showed them Candice. By the way, when I first got Candice my friend practically named her (we were thinking of names and Candice seemed perfect). So, her friend handles my snake because she isn't afraid of them at all. My friend was very curious to handle my snake, so she asked to handle it but I had to hold it so she would drop it. She was handling the snake, and overcoming her fear. I also brought the other 'kids' outside and her friend was handling those.

I'm glad I got my friend to overcome her fear. She actually handled Candice without my help so now she isn't afraid of snakes. Another happy ending

Aw, isn't that a great feeling?

My boyfriend was uneasy about even sleeping in the same room as my BP, but now he wants one of his own

Aww...good story...don't you love it when you convince them it is NOT a man eating crazy reptile.

Re: Helped A Friend Overcome Her Fear

Cool thread. I too had the pleasure of helping people get over their fear of snakes. I could get a mom or dad, terrified of snakes, to hold one while attending the reptile shows I sold at. It was cool but I also made a few sales because of this too.

Man that's awesome! I still have somewhat of a hard time convincing my grandparents that they aren't killers. My grandpa is somewhat getting through. He came to the phoenix expo and even bought me a snake and the supplies for it.
