    Ranco thermostats

Hey what could you all tell me about the ranco thermostats from http://www.boaphileplastics.com/thermostat.html

when i get my rack from them i was also going to get that thermostat but wanted to make sure it was woth 100 .. ive heard good things about them but just making sure lol

one thing i was wanting to know is do they have a setting to change the temp by itself.. without me having to be there to change it..??? need to know for breeding.. when that time comes

    but let me know thanks!

    Re: Ranco thermostats

Definitely a good thermostat I have several of them (Colubrid rack, oil filled heater and back up) and I am statisfied with them.

Setting do not change on it's own so if you want to drop temps at night you will have to do it manually.

If you shop around you can also save money http://www.reptilebasics.com/ranco-e...pre-wired.html

Now if you want a thermostat with night drop I would recommend the following http://www.spyderrobotics.com/products/herpstatnd.html

No - nor does it measure temps - it simply controls the temp of the heat source, based on the temperature you plug in as the temperature to maintain.

You still should get a digital thermometer to measure the temps inside the tubs as well as a hygrometer to measure the humidity.

My Rancos are typically set about 10 degrees higher than than the temp I want to maintain INSIDE the tubs. You'll need to play around with it until you find your "sweet" spot - it's different for everyone depending on the ambient temps in your room.
