issue with ranco, need help
well i had a power outage and now anytime i try to program my ranco, after about 10 sec after i program it, it clicks off and gives me a e2 message. i know that E2 means "the control settings are not properly stored in memory" but i cant figure out what the heck is going on. is there ne other reasons why E2 would pop up????
thanks!!

Re: issue with ranco, need help
Did you try to reset the unit (power cycle it)? Also, you can try to switch it to Celsius mode or try to make the temp a few degrees cooler or hotter. I also read that E2 can mean that there is some form of a tiny stress fracture on one of the lines on the circuit board. Which would mean your going to need a new one. Maybe the power outage caused a voltage spike and messed up your ranco beyond repair

Re: issue with ranco, need help
i can change the temps and cycle thru the menu just fine but as soon as im done it heats for maybe a few seconds then flashes the E2 code. i re wired a extra surge protector i had around the house and it seems to still do the same with the new protector. im guessing its toast, now a decision to buy either a new ranco or go with a helix....

On those i believe theres a solid fuse. so on power outtages they have a possibility of breaking. Contact rich from reptilebasics.com and see about getting it repaired.
