Im a clutz. The Jeep won this time...

Yeah so I was on my way to work, stopped at the gas station 9 miles from work to get a frap (needed my caffene) and as I was walking back to the Jeep I got distracted by a cop who had someone pulled over in the parking area of the station. I went to walk around the concrete median in front of the gas pumps, while reaching out to open the door, pushed the button with my thumb while stumbling on the corner of the concrete block.

Now all I have to catch my fall is the door handle in my hand. By this time the door was already opening and the reaction of trying not to fall caused me to jerk the door to me.

In essense I punched myself in the face with the very edge of the metal door. Oh the headache.. Oh the blood dripping on everything and running down my face.

So after sitting in the Jeep for about 5 minutes with a pile of napkins over my eye, I very dizzily drive the rest of the way to work (im 30 miles from home by this time) Cut a bandaid in strips to try to hold the gaping gash closed and proceed to clock in.

Now my relief is coming an hour early tonight so I can go get a stitch or to. This thing swelled so much it split open twice as much as when I took this pic with my camera phone. If I dont get it closed up I will look like vanilla ice with a huge stripe in my eyebrow!

    OW!

Its actually alot worse than the crappy pic shows. The hair from my eyebrow covers the widest part of the split. I still have a headache and this happened 4 hours ago.

At least the jeep is ok right?

Maybe you can use this as an excuse to be pampered by someone

    OUCH!

BUT, scars always make you look cool

Glad it wasn't any worse, and I hope you recover quickly.

Oh yes the Jeep is just fine. In all of its 250,000 mile glory, im pretty sure I heard it snickering at me while I was sitting in there digging in the glove box for napkins.

Im thinking it was all planned. See, Im looking for another one. Newer, less miles etc.. My Jeep knows this...

Wow, you completely underplayed that. You should have went running up to the cop, screaming and stuff with blood all over your face, and when he asked you what happened, tell him you spilled your coffee...

Holy cow....you really did split that open. Maybe they can try to glue it shut or tape it shut so you don't have a stich scar. Ow..ee

Ouch! Maybe the Jeep did plan it all. I know mine can hear me talking of getting a new car. That's why she keeps breaking down on me!

But yea, that is going to be a nice scar. Looks painful!
    Under Construction.....
