Re: If you had 10K to spend

If you had no experience with snakes, and where just a "investor" looking to make some profit, I'd tell ya to stick the money in a safe and walk away. Since you've been keeping snakes before, and know a little bit of the breeding scene, you know what to expect for the most part. I think the real question is how soon do you want to start getting hatchlings? You're going to pay alot extra for a girl that is ready to go this year (I'm sure you know this). I'd get some good, yearling hets, and codom hets (spider het albino) or something along those lines. Pick out morphs you like though....

This has got to be the best answer yet.

I am going to TRY to outdo it tho....

I personally would head to Daytona... around 2:00pm on SUNDAY... with the full 10k in cash... (preferably in $10 dollar bills). For the last two hours or so before the end of the show I would be on top of the world. The memories from those two hours would be as good as what I end up with physically.

Re: If you had 10K to spend

An ARS Rack in every size. A number of great Ball Pythons het for something and not het at all. A couple carpet pythons. A couple retics and burms. A couple Woma's. A Green Tree Python. A couple Blood Pythons. A Tegu. A number of Leopard Geckos and Fat Tailed Geckos. A large incubator. more space in my house. A couple Boa's. A couple Hognose Snakes. Lots of feeders. Some good strong snake hooks. A good, large cage for the burms and retics when they get older. A couple Helix DBS-1000's fro the racks and cages. A scale (for the small snakes, and one of those scales that you see at the vet to measure dogs for the burms and retics). A lot of books (for reptiles like: "The Complete Ball Python", "Ball Pythons in Captivity", "History, Natural History, Care & Breeding by Dave and Tracy Barker" and "Understanding Reptile Parasites 2nd Edition by Dr. Roger Klingenburg"). And some videos and posters (for reptiles like: The "Along Came a Spider" poster from NERD and "Dr. Seward's Ball Python Breeding DVD", you can never learn enough). Lots of stuff that I would get.

Definitely a Lav, and as many adult morph females as I can pick up with the remainder.

Re: If you had 10K to spend

I'd want at least two really nice rack systems. Then a freezer full of snake food.

    After that:

Whatever snakes I need to make caramel albino pieds, pinstripe pieds, dreamsicles, and maybe silver streak pieds.

Can you tell I like pieds?

I would recommend putting that $10K into a 2 year CD.
