Reputable online breeders for Ball Pythons?

As indicated in my previous thread regarding proper housing of a Ball Python, I am looking to acquire a juvenile BP. However, it was suggested that I should consider looking for a reputable online / local breeder instead of my local pet store. So I was hoping maybe people could post some good (relatively recent) experiences they have had with online breeders that they would recommend, or on the flip side warnings against breeders you have had bad experiences with. It should be noted that I am only looking for a pet here, and the exotic breeds will be out of my financial reach--I am preferably looking for a sub $100 snake. Comments?

where are you located? i ask because shipping would add to the price, but i would surely not buy from a pest store

You have not mentioned where you are from - I bet there may be a local breeder close to you that you could see your animal in person. You should be able to pick up a nice normal or maybe even a pastel.

There are also a ton of breeders here on the forum - you should be able to find someone reputable here that could help you out.

    Good luck,

    Lee

You can always check out the for sale section here on this forum...

    Located right here.... http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/f...splay.php?f=69

You will always find a cheaper animal from a breeder then from a pet store. Not because the animals are better or worse, but because a pet store has a LOT more overhead then a private hobbyist breeder.

Um, if you are in San Antonio, you are right in VPI's backyard and they do breed ball pythons. However, they do not do much with normals. I have seen them sell male pastels at shows for $100 though. They are usually at the San Antonio expo which you just missed (it was this weekend). You might want to contact them though. If they have a male pastel, they might even let you pick it up or meet you somewhere. The Barkers are great people. I have a couple snakes from them in my own collection.

I sugest you save some money up and get your self a nice female pastel from a local breeder, VPI would be great. A female Pastel should be no more than $150.
