Re: Who said Crocs don't make good pets?

Pretty cool story, but not that unbelievable. That's an American Crocodile in Costa Rica which are quite a bit more shy/docile than old world crocs, even though they can still get pretty big.

At the alaska state fair there was a reptile exhibit, and they did shows where one of the animals they showed off was a 5-6 foot gator. Not huge, but big enough to do damage if it got annoyed.

They let kids hold it, and the gator didn't even have its mouth restrained, as is often the case when letting the public handle crocodilians.

The alligator was incredibly well behaved, more than I could ever have imagined.

That is truly amazing. I'm reminded of the reports of snakes that refuse to eat a mouse once, and then will never eat it, even after they get hungry and eat OTHER mice, until it's been removed and then returned again later.

Whatever mechanism causes that may be at work here...if so, this guy better never go on vacation. lol
