New gecko and question about food
Hey everyone i just got a new leopard gecko on saturday. it is doing great loves meal works, and its dubia roaches. I was wondering if any one has used the zoo med leopard gecko food and if so what do you think about it and how easy is it to get them to eat it.
Thank you
Kevin

Re: New gecko and question about food
It's almost impossible to get most geckos to even pay attention to something that isn't moving. I would not recommend it. Stick to gutloaded insects (Dubias are an excellent staple!) and you'll have a happy gecko. Don't forget to dust with supplements!

Re: New gecko and question about food
Dubias, are a great staple i breed my own also and my leos love them. I've tried a few different brands of leo food like that and none of then have worked. Like coldblooded said, it's almost impossible to get leos to eat something that doesn't move. If you wanna feed it other things besides dubias and mealworms, you can feed it crickets, superworms(appropriately sized of course), phoenix worms, silk worms, butterworms, REALLY REALLY small hornworms(or an appropriately sized hornworm for your gecko are good too. but they get really big, really fast, so its kinda hard, unless your leopard gecko is just gigantic, lol) and maybe throw in a waxworm or two a couple times a week(but keep that to a minimum and only use them as treats, they're extremely fatty and really not nutritious at all.)
Be sure to gutload everything
Brian.

Re: New gecko and question about food
Mealworms and pheonix worms with the occasional waxworm treat are all good. Dubias are great for a staple as well.
The diet food probably won't be eaten and is a waste of money. I've never heard of success with that stuff.
