Re: What gets your Goat on the forums?
Doesnt get my goat, but I definetly end up getting theirs.... Its funny to me how if you go against the grain with what the popular belief is on any forum, people are so fast to lay their logic down on why you are wrong for something.... Like I even care. I just sit in my computer chair and laugh while they get mad.......

Re: What gets your Goat on the forums?
I don't get irritated by most of what goes on in the forums. Newbies will ask questions that others have asked, some people are not as polite as others when giving advice, some are know-it-alls (although this can be dangerous), etc. It's all about dealing with different personalities.
What annoys me are the 'how much $$$ can I make off breeding ball pythons?' threads posted by people that either don't have a single snake yet or have just barely set up their first. Sure it is a business for many, and sure it's great to have a hobby that can pay for itself, but some of the members that post those threads think they will make it rich overnight and once they figure out the reality, we'll see their snakes up on CL because they are not turning a profit on their 'business'.

Just because it's in a book doesn't mean it's true.
Just because it's not in a book, doesn't mean it's wrong.
SO would you be taking your own advice ?

Re: What gets your Goat on the forums?
People who are either too inept or too lazy to use the search function. 75% of the questions asked on most forums have been already been asked and answered repeatedly.
A good example on this forum is, "Why hasn't my ball python pooped?" I think it get's asked 3 or 4 times a week...
"If I were stranded on a desert island and could only have one book, record and person...I'd probably die of exposure."

Nothing really gets me on the forums, We were all noobs at one point or another. I understand that the "is this a morph" thread gets annoying BUT everyone on this forum at one point or another was unable to identify some morph out there. Heck there was a time when Brian or Adam or any of those guys couldn't either. I just read them, reply if I have something to chime in on and if not move on. It's just a forum and I think people take it WAY to seriously.

It's like. If you really want a morph and you like ball pythons, you should enjoy pouring over the thousands of BP photos. Pick one that you like and don't wait for someone else to tell what to buy!? It doesn't make sense.
This ^^^ is definitely one of my big ones. Which sort of goes along with folks who can't be bothered with learning things themselves, but must have every drop of information spoon-fed to them. If you really love these animals, then it should be a pleasure to spend as much time as you can reading about them and scouring pictures and just...absorbing.
Another thing that really bugs me is when folks whine and cry because someone isn't nice to them. I mean...it'd be GREAT if every answer was given with polite civility. But this is the real world, and that just isn't going to happen. Some people just aren't skilled at being patient and diplomatic....some people get a charge out of being irritating. But either way...just deal with it and grow a slightly thicker skin....please.
