    Ahhh Never feeding live again1!!!!

so i just fed my snakes and my spider got bit . ive only had this happen one other time and it was verry minor. hes actually finishing eating the rat right now, but im going to check him out and clean him up when hes done..

ive been feeding live for years and never had a rat react like this before. when he coiled him they rolled all over the tank almost from one end to the next. luckly they landed with the rats head facing up to where my girl friend noticed he was biting him really bad. he got him right under his neck and just behind the top of his head.. right away i gently picked him up and layed him on the table still coiled. i waited a few min untill i was sure the rat was already dead and got some needle knoes pliers. i didnt want him uncoiling and possibly twisting the rats teeth and making it worse. so i grabbed the rats upper jaw and the teeth pulled right out. ive yet to check out the dammage on the underside, but i think he will be ok.

eitherway, ill just have to try to switch him over to frozen thawed. ive tried before and he wouldnt take. any tips??

This may sound corny ....BUT... I have always been able to convert every one of my BP's to F/T using this method... Get a 2 liter soda bottle and cut a little bit less than in half ,fill it almost to the top with hot water from the faucet, place in it the microwave for about 2 mins. or little more depending on your microwave (you want the water very very hot to the touch BUT not scalding hot). After the water is hot, place the rat into the water and sit it near the enclosure. Typically it will take about 10-15 mins for the rat to thaw. If the rat doesnt feel hot to the touch, repeat the water heating and replace the rat into the hot water for 5-10 seconds. Use tongs or hemostats to grasp the rats skin just behind the shoulder blade and present the rat a few inches infront of the snake.
