Do you use a surge protector on your thermostats?

I was just curious as to who here uses a surge protector on their thermostats? If you do which one do you use? What is the joule rating? Thanks

I have everything, from the the helix's to the fish aquarium canister filter & lights, all plugged in to power strips that have the built in surge protector and off switch.

My house still hase a fuse box. I have future plans to switch it to a breaker box but i have had fuses blow and actually lost a big screen TV in the process because it wasnt plugged into a strip with surge protection.

Thats a chance i wont take with my reptiles and fish aquarium.

So yes. Definately. I dont trust mother nature when it comes to crazy weather. The drivers who like to hit utility poles in my area, or the fuses in my house.

same cept i dont' do fresh water so my sump pumps and skimmers are on surge protector power strips.

depends on what you have fot my beardies, i have one of the zilla. or zoo.med ones, that have a dimmer built inti to monitor uvb turn on/offs. but for my bps. jus ta regular walmart, up to 1500 watt, i think, my tv and theator system, ios on a monster surge protector, with the 5 year warrenty/insurence thing from the company.

I use surge protectors for everything, including my thermos, lamps/UTHs and all other electronics. Reason being is because my house is veeeery old (built in 1854!) and the electricity for it was last updated in the 60's. >.< So we are constantly blowing a breaker and having to reset it.
