Here's a pic of her building earlier this year - the handles are 5.75 inches long and the bowl is 7.5 inches in diameter if that helps you judge size.

    Both hands ( I'm an overachiever ).

I'm death on stilts to a shredded crispy beef but I'd need 24 inch chopsticks to defend against Cleo in feeding mode.

    And probably fencing lessons.

Who says you can't get a decent feeding response with F/T.

Re: Stupid Feeding Error - now with added blood

I just recently changed over to paper for the ball pythons myself. I was wondering how others dealt with the problem of the ones that hide under the paper on feeding day. If you don’t mind, I think I’ll avoid using your method.
Nice bite you got there, how long did she take to let go?

LOL!!! Wow.. She did get you pretty good didnt she?!?

I DID remember to pick up my feeding tongs at the show

After i got pegged by an over zealous 6 month old, I was reminded of the nasty bite I got a long time ago from my burm. I decided i better get those tongs before one of my larger balls (some have serious attitude!) decides to "peg" me a little worse than the baby did!

    GO GET SOME TONGS!!

Tongs have been moved slightly up the shopping list.

She bit and let go almost instantly - I've had the full on coil and constrict before and that is seriously not fun.

I bet!! Ive been bit a few times but never constricted. Im pretty sure i wouldnt like that one bit. Being bit by a large burm long ago was more than enough for me. Now i laugh at myself when i get bitten by a ball

So, rat dangling by the tail from one hand, I proceeded to try and lift the newspaper to find her head (despite my best efforts she seems unwilling to strike with her bum end ).

I lift one side..... nope no snake at all that side.

And so, braincells akimbo, I get the rat ready to dangle and reach out with my other hand to tweak the newspaper aside to let her ladyship see the rat.

    Instant SFE.

She seemed a mite surprised ( possibly at the language ) but recovered well and got the rat I hastily waved in her direction.

I am proud to say she then heroically ignored my manly blubbering and wolfed down the rat like a pro.

Some day I really must remember to buy those feeding tongs.
