    When Should I worry

So I have not been a member long but I have had many other reptiles this being my first python/snake.
We have all feeding records and sheds since he was born
To give a lil background on our snake.
    He was born 7/4/2009
    First Shed 7/11/2009
We took him in to our family on 9/5/09
First night we got him he pooped and ate a frozen mouse.
We set up his feedings every saturday
    9/12 he ate one FT
9/17 we attempted to feed him but he was shedding so he did not feed.
Completed his perfect shed on 9/21
    Fed 9/22 one FT
    Fed 9/27 one FT
    Fed 10/3 one FT
My problem is he has not pooped since 9/5/09 and it is now 10/5

I know he is only 3 months old is he absorbing that much of his food. He does not feel like he is clogged up at all. I have helped a bearded dragon pass some compacted food when I rescued him. We give our bearded 2-3 baths per week he loves them. Should I do the same for the ball python?
His cold side is 80 degrees his warm side at 92 measured with digital temp gun. We track his humidity with a probe thermometer (that he thinks is a tree). Humidity is around 53% constant and we have a moist hide that is around 60% for when he sheds.
He does not seem to act funny. Hides most of the day comes out at night.

Any help for Monk would be appreciated.

someone correct me if im wrong but i think you would feel or even see something starting to clog up the rear end area. if he feels/looks healthy, hes probally just absorbing most/all of it. are you feeding him small meals?

    Yes small meals.

He eats what I think is called a hopper. (I could be wrong) It was the size recommended to me by the breeder as well as rodentpro at the show here in columbus ohio. After he swallows food he does not have a visible lump from feeding.

Oh wow, we named ours "Patriot" because we got him a few days before July 4th, but it's even more appropriate for your little guy, LOL!

We had Patriot for 4 weeks before his first poop. He goes about twice a month since then. I'm guessing he didn't poop for so long because he'd been getting hopper mice at age 6 months, which apparently were way too small. If you're not seeing even a small bulge after it's swallowed, the mouse is probably too small, which may also be why it's not pooping. Trying going up to the next size.

    Re: When Should I worry

i was a little worried with my corn, but i bumbed his food up from fuzzys to adult mice and he does his duties once a week. im guessing its just from feeding such a small meal

    Re: When Should I worry

My girl was hatched around the same time your was, I think. The breeder wasn't as good as yours and didn't/doesn't keep any records at all. I've had her since she was 2 weeks old, and she's only pooped twice. She recently just went, which was oh-so-great. They go when they need to. At the moment, I think he's absorbing alot of his meal so he won't really need to go that often.

    Hope this helps

I see a small bulge after is swallowed and on the way down. But there is no bulge at the largest part of his body.

    Re: When Should I worry

I agree with the others... probably nothing to worry about yet, and he could take an adult mouse by now. Do you know his current weight? My youngest BPs were also born in July, and have been eating adult mice (sometimes two) for the last few meals - with NO problem getting them down. And most of my snakes, big or small, generally don't poop more than once every 4-6 weeks. Here are the records for two of my babies, to give you something for comparison...

Orlando, 1.0 het Albino born 7/7/09:
    10/02 - Weight 165g
    10/01 - Feeding, 1 Mouse (Adult)
    09/29 - Shed
    09/29 - Defecated
    09/25 - Feeding, 1 Mouse (Adult)
    09/20 - Weight 137g
    09/18 - Feeding, 2 Mice (Hopper, Adult)
    09/14 - Weight 111g
    09/12 - Feeding, 1 Mouse (Hopper)
    09/08 - Weight 105g
    09/06 - Feeding, 1 Mouse (Hopper)

    Pedro, 1.0 Mojave born 7/25/09:
    10/02 - Weight 178g
    10/01 - Feeding, 2 Mice (Adult)
    09/27 - Shed
    09/27 - Weight 133g
    09/27 - Defecated
09/25 - Feeding, 1 Mice (Adult) <--- extra meal due to refusal from another
    09/22 - Feeding, 1 Mouse (Hopper)
    09/20 - Weight 122g
    09/18 - Feeding, 2 Mice (Hoppers)
    09/12 - Feeding, 1 Mouse (Hopper)
    09/08 - Weight 93g
    09/06 - Feeding, 1 Mouse (Hopper)

    Re: When Should I worry

Well great news he pooped a VERY small amount and is out crawling around looking for food already. He definately needs a larger meal. I will be going to a local rodent guy and pick up some adult frozen mice tomorrow. This weekend going to switch him to those. I am also going to pick up a digital scale so I can weigh all my reptiles.
