When I paid 3k for my spider & pastel (special pair pricing mind you) I got a great deal!!! And bees were going for 10K. I'm glad they are in a more affordable price range now, more folks will be able to have their dream morph.

I'm doing a Killer Axanthic bee project now, because they are the coolest looking Spider cross to me. My Spider & Pastel not only look great, they will make some fantastic combos down the road. They are so cool!

Prices fall over time. If you are just wanting the snake, you can time your buying. If you breed, it matters less. If you love the snakes it hardly matters at all.

Ditto!! Falling prices just means more people will be able to afford them. Which means that you vastly expand your customer base.

The key is looking long term. I paid $1200 for my het pieds. Finally got a pied this year. I'm keeping him back, and will hold back a female if I get one next year. But from then on, I'll be selling them all. So even when pieds are selling for $400 in a few years, I'll be producing several of them and will easily make my money back on my initial investment.

So for the OP, yes you could have bought one, but now you'll have the satisfaction of producing your own (which can't be beat!!). Then just think long term, and you can still make back your original investment but will have had all the excitement along the way!

I see what Your saying, and yep I went thou this afew years ago when prices were way up there I think I paid 3800 for a female spider..lol. If it bugs You that Bad sale that spider or see If You can do a Trade and cash for a really Nice Bee, anyone can make these Morphs, its not hard. You just have to jump out there and get ahead abit.. Try and make it to Tinley coming up soon and see what You can find as far as Bees and pick the BEST looking ONE.

The way I look at it is Everything I produce is above what I see and that why my stuff is selling and People want them. People that know Me , know I only pick the best of the best. Just be happy with what Your doing and don't worry about the price droping its going to happen. I still haven't sold any of my 09 babys. I like takeing care of them for awhile and then seeing what ones I can let go of, always try and keep the best looking female Morphs and sell what males You don't need or do a trade with someone. I don't care if the next guy sales his bees for 500 im not selling any of mine that cheep ,because I know mine are better and they are well worth it.. I seen a SpinnerBlast 4sale cheep Yet it was the ugliest one I have ever seen in my life.. I don't like them if they have any Grey on them . They will grow up to be really dirty looking, just try and go for the Best and in the end it will pay off. I'll post some pictures of my stuff when I get some more time

Isn't this just simple supply and demand?????

Love what you do and the $$ wont matter as much. I have my bee and I have a normal. (soon to be more when my hubby lets me drop some cash again) (after the bee it might be a while) When they are old enough I will breed..for fun...for the experience...and maybe even to pay for my habit and to teach my children. To me...the money is not the big deal, they will be worth what they are worth. The experience however is invaluable!!!

Re: These prices Just keep droping

I bought my female spider for the price of last year’s bee, am I mad about it? Not one bit with that spider in 2 breeding seasons I have produced a total of 2 Spiders, 1 Bee and 2 Spinners. Now I have a proven breeder spider, 2 of my favorite combos and many more to come in the future.

I paid $1300 for a pair of het pied, if I had waited I could have bought a pied this year for that same price, instead I produced 4 of them and 2 possible het pied females. Now I have a proven pair of het pieds, some pieds, some possible hets and I had the pleasure to produce my very own pied (1 of my favorite morph) – Can’t complain about that either.

Bottom line price will drop, yes you might be able to buy the combo you want for the price of the pair you buy to make it but you need to realize that you will have a breeding pair that will breed for years to come and that hatching your own morphs and combos is priceless.
