tape is fine to put over the holes as long as it is on the OUTSIDE of the tub.

Agreed with cinderbird. I made that mistake with my bp and now he has got a very very very mild case of scale rot( like 5-6 scales on whole body, mostly on under chin) and it actually sorta tore off the outside coating of a lot of scales. The stuff that came of kinda looked like shed skin. I'm sure he will be ok after a shed, but I wouldn't use ductape.

What if they flick their tongue in one of the taped holes? That doesn't sound like to much fun.
If anything, put a small piece of tape in the center of a piece of duct tape so the stick part isn't over the hole.
