Feeding Question! ( I know another)

    Hey all,
Ok so i just recently got 3 ball pythons about a week ago. 2 males and a female. 09s. I have them in a Tub rack setup 12qt. 1 small plastic hide and 1 small plastic water dish all identical. Tempetures are good i have them on a thermo and a dimmer back up humidity is good. Sitting where it is supposed to be via husbandry and care sheets. So anyway i fed them for the first time today the first male took him about 5 mins of the mouse roaming around then i finally dangled with tongs a ways away from him let him stalk it then dropped it and he struck and took it down nicly. The second male same story accept he took it straight from the tongs. ( im feeding out of the tubs in a different slightly larger tub.) So finally the females turn i put her int he tub and she instantly started stalking the mouse (feeding adult mice) And struck it once solid but released and didnt coil. So i dangled with tongs (never once dangleing over her always letting her come to the mouse) She probably struck this mouse 10-15 times but never once coiled a couple times it looked like she was going to coil and then would stop. I cant figure it out to save the life of me. She has been the most active of the 3 snakes though so im guessing its a possibility shes just not comfortable in her surroundings yet. Anyway any ideas would be appreciated and mostly when i need to try and feed her again. I think waiting without disturbing her for around 5 more days and then trying is adequate but tell me what ya think.
    -Thanks-

If she's active during the day, that's bad.

Just give her 5 days, if the next feeding in 5 days doesn't go, wait 7 days. That's what I would do.

    Hi,

I'd feed her in her tank.

Those sounded like either defensive or aggressive strikes as opposed to feeding strikes.

Feed your snakes in their home enclosures. Wait a week with no handling and no feeding before offering food again.

You first mistake was offering it to her 5 days after you got her, your second was moving her to a different enclosure. She wasn't interested in eating the mouse, she was interested in defending herself.

Just giver her some chill time, she will come around.

Highly active snakes are usually caused by 3 things. One being their stressed form a new move, two they are Hungry, and 3 its mating time.

Being yours is young and new to you the stress is your factor as to why their eating like this. Offer again in 5-7days in their own setups. Do not remove them at all.

They do not associate your hand as food when entering the cage. Its a myth made up by some crappy pet stores.

Re: Feeding Question! ( I know another)

Oh im not worried about them being more aggressive in the cage. My two males ate perfectly fine out of the container and ive only had one for a few days. Trying to keep them on the same schedule as the breeder though who is local. And the only reason i pulled them out is so that they wouldnt grab up any substrate when eating. But the female will be fed in there next week.
