I agree - I'm really just disputing the idea that a second generation animal is going to have a negative qualitative impact based on the fact the breeding was done by a smaller breeder.

Whether I purchase and breed the dam and sire from NERD or they breed them in-house has no effect whatsoever on the quality of the offspring. What I do as a breeder very well may, but that can go both ways, which is to say the small boutique breeder using NERD stock may produce higher quality animals.

Price does not quality make, nor does it preclude it.
I agree. Usually I'd say "you get what you pay for," but in some cases that's just not true. Case in point - I just bought a HOT 1.0 '09 Mojave, 1.0 '09 het Albino & 0.1 '08 het Albino, for the total price of around $465 with shipping... and these snakes are from a "BP breeder" you all know and love. He gave me a discount for multiple snake purchase, another discount for being a BP.net member, and combined shipping since they came together. So yeah, price often dictates quality, but there are definitely exceptions to the rule.

P.S. When I start breeding, I will price mine at market value... but if they're taking a while to sell, I'd have no problem lowering prices to find them a home. I'm not doing this for profit, and would be willing to sacrifice a little money for a good buyer.

No kidding, those prices are HIGH! I can't believe a pastel goes for that much, when you can usually get them (females) for less than $200 here... I only paid $125 for my male, and that's considered a little steep.

Don't you get a lot of African imports in the UK? I actually think that would be cool, since I've been scouting for a "dinker project" since I got into BPs.
