    Strange ball behavior

I JUST got my new 100% het albino male today. He was born on 8/20. I have in a 15 quart sterilite tub. The temps are reading 89/79 warm/cool. The humidity is around 66% in the tub. I have two plastic hides one on the hot side and one on the cool side.

He has "perched/wedged" himself between the lid and this little shelf towards the top of the tub. He isn't going into the hides at all. The first time he did this I thought maybe he didn't know where the hides were and so I opened the lid and held him with his head towards the entrance to the hide. He then went in about 1/2 way for just a couple/three minutes, then made his way back up to the top of the tub again. (on the cool side for reference)

Anyone else seen anything like this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Strange ball behavior

    Hi,

It's not all that uncommon - they take a while to feel confident the hides are safe sometimes.

Usually they work it out in a couple of days.

    Re: Strange ball behavior

I've had my pastel male for over a year and he still likes to squish himself between the hide and the top of the tub every now and again. If he likes it I wouldn't worry about it.
