American Pitbull
So anyways a girl I know is selling american pitbull puppies, they're 5 weeks old I believe she said. They're really cute, some are black/blueish and some are brown. She is selling them for $100 and they come with papers.
The puppies have the following bloodlines:
Boudreaux
Carver
Alligator
Pistol Pete
Razor Edge
I'm sure they had one more but not sure what it was. The puppies are cute. So anyways i'm going to get one tomorrow. Any insight?

Yeah, drop one off here on your way home.

Re: American Pitbull
5 weeks old is way too young to be separated from the mother and rest of the litter.

Re: American Pitbull
A responsible breeder will not separate mother and pup until at LEAST 8 weeks of age, and most will wait until 12 weeks of age.

Re: American Pitbull
Correction, they are 6 weeks old, I talked to her a few minutes ago. I was actually kind of upset with her because she let one of the puppies go to a guy, who was obviously going to fight them. I wish he would of said something stupid, and I would of called some buddies from the sheriffs office that were on duty at the time to follow him and bust him later. I know the reason she's selling them when she is and as cheap as she is would be because of a death in the family and needing the money to help out.

Sounds like an irresponsible BYB to me... I'd pass on that litter.
If you're looking for a good Pit Bull, I'd visit a UKC show and get to know some of the breeders there that are actually striving to improve the breed (as opposed to breeding dogs just because they have functional reproductive organs, and to make money). JMHO.

Re: American Pitbull
K, never heard of "pistol pete"? The first three are famous game lines,
commonly thrown out by bybs as well, razors edge is bully style dogs, no one in their right mind would do a cross of those bloodlines and honestly I'm willing to bet their peds don't even have those names in them and if they do it's so far back it means nothing. Not to mention only a jackass lets pups go at 5 weeks. I would ask which "gator" is in their peds and see what they say...Either way it sounds like scatterbred crap.
Anyways don't do it. Byb pits are a dime a dozen, go pick up a puppy at a shelter, at least it will have a vet check, shots/worming and been fixed already. And probably less then $100 even. I don't do puppies but paid $65 for my male at a shelter and there were 5 more there just like him. If you want a breeder pup don't go to some fool like this, find someone that shows and works their dogs.

Neal, save yourself the heart ache and money. Shop around, get to know responsible breeders who won't sell because they need money, won't sell fighting animals, won't breed crap with crap just to make crap. It might be a good price, but it will cost you much much more down the road.
I hate to see BYB's throw together untested dogs with no training, no medical testing, etc etc.
