I've used everything; Helix, Herpstat, rheostats... and I'll never use anything other than Herpstat again. Herpstats are awesome, and they are fairly cheap for the accuracy and functionality.

i have a johnson controls and a helix. I enjoy my helix and will be getting more but will probably try a herpstat eventually because people say great things about them.

i had a reptitemp 500R and HATED it if that matters. lol

I use Helix DBS 1000's. Never used anything else though.

if you are controlling multiple cages that are the same as far as size and heat set up, you can't go wrong w/ johnson's.

and for those breeder racks you can get a johnson's w/ nightdrop, as far as i know reptile basics is the only ones who sell these types of thermostats.
