Hides vs Temps
So i have had my BP for almost 3 weeks, hes a hatchling. He only seems to stay in the one hide, at least from the hours of 5:30am to 11pm. Regardless of the temp, he will not move. Is this normal? The temps are low 80s (sometimes the temps get to 87 on the cool side when the sun is setting, thanks west coast!) Each time I take him out for handling I guide him back into the warm side hide, which at this time is about 2 degrees warmer then the cool side (on top of the substrate, 95 below) The hides are also identical.
Any advice or input? Thanks!

It's normal. Some just prefer the cooler side.

Re: Hides vs Temps
As long as you are sure those are your temps (measuring with a heat gun or probe thermometer) then there is nothing to worry about.
They thermoregulate as needed. Usually they are only on the hot side if they have eaten a meal recently.

Thats what im saying though, the temps in the hides are just about 2 degress different, yet he still moves. Do BP develope a preferance for a certain hide? or maybe he just isnt sure about the other hide?
Also I did just recently change his hides to be identical ones, if thats anything.

Yes these are the temp measured from probes. I do not curently have a temp gun. I wish tho, Opted for the Hepstat instead of a temp gun since i was limited on funds. Thanks tho.
Here are some newer pics if they help

And i normally have damp towels on top, they were just removed for the pics

Re: Hides vs Temps
Everything look okay to me! I am fairly new to owning a ball but mine never sleeps in the warm hide. Mine goes to the warm side at night sometimes and just lays there. Just check your temps often! Don't worry it's normal!!!
