    New Blood lines

Well i got 20 more AFS's to start a new blood line put one of my new males into a tank with a few from my new rats and added some from my old blood line. None of them had baby's yet but one of my old blood lines was going to have a litter. When i got home from work tonight the male was beat on pretty bad i had to feed him off. Did they att the male because the female was going to have a litter ?? I have over 150 rats from my old set. This is the only one that was beating on the new male all my other are doing fine. Anybody think they beat the male because she was going to have a little from a diff male ??

I've heard you never add ASFs to an established social group, that it always results in them killing the new rat.

I have had success adding new members to a group you just have to clean their tub and introduce the new member in a different tub and then add them all back to the original tub, a clean tub is the key

They where not in a social group i have the males and females in diff cages i just took 9 females from both blood lines and put them with a male ! But one of the females was going to have a litter so im not sure if thats where the fighting started ? I have been breeding them for almost 2 years and this is the first time i have ever had an issue just hope its my last issue. Only bad thing for my 1.9 i have to let a male baby take over now so looks like that tank is on hold for having litters for a while
