That UTH is too big for that tub. Bending it will only cause problems and be a potential fire hazard. You should downgrade in size so your snake can escape from the heat when it wants too. Also, you should be using a thermostat to control the temperature on the uth or else you'll burn your snake to death.

The UTH should only cover 1/3 of the underside of the enclosure. The UTH is a bit too large, so you may need to go down in a size. If you are using a 30-40 gallon UTH, I suggest going with a 10-20 gallon enclosure along with a thermostat to control it.

you can but if you have a tiny baby ball, you'll need to be creative and fill the tub up with lots of hiding spots so the snake can feel more secure.

Getting a bigger tub would be best. Just make sure the UTH only covers 1/3 of the underside of the new tub you will be getting. I suggest to take the UTH to a store with you and see which tub is perfect for the UTH. But, if the tub is too big for your snake, I suggest adding more plants/sticks so there is no open spaces. Though, if that is too pricey, you can always just crumble up some newspaper and fill the tank with that for now.

try getting a 32 qt tub. I think the uth will fit perfectly on that size tub.
