I just heard about it from the local reptile store. Goodbye to Hots now. Nobody made that big a deal about the Pygmy rattlers, but since everyone's on a roll now...
Im not sure what happened with pygmy rattlers. But they probably didnt make to big a deal of that becuase I believe they are native to florida.
The situation for herpers in Florida is all kinds of ridonkulous. I'm glad that cable worker got prompt treatment for the bite, and I hope the experience doesn't cause him ill will towards reptiles.
Although, that is a beautiful mamba photo at the bottom of the article there
warning residents that a "poisonous" snake was on the loose.
I hate to say it but we might as well give up if the news cant even get it right! and if the news cant get it right nor will the uneducated people who will support the ban!

Personally I didn't think the article was all that bad, despite the poisonous/venomous mixups. At least they got some proper info on the snake itself and didn't drama up the article with those gushing descriptions I see sometimes. Kept things pretty straight forward.
But then I made the mistake of clicking on the comments.... ugh.....
