I've read that 41 qt's will work for the life of a BP.

How big is the snake now? If it is still a baby then a 20 gallon tank could be make it feel less secure and lead to fasting.

If he is a baby, start with a shoebox tub. Then move up as he grows.

Can I ask where? Most people here recommend using a 41 qt for only larger females.

    I'd say a 32qt.

Most of my larger females are in 41qt. Males in 32qt.

Tubs are inexpensive & going from shoebox to 15qt & later a 32 or 42 won't cost much. A secure snake feeds well & will enjoy his/her home with you.
