Running (slithering) away?

so i have been taking my ball pythons outside a lot in this nice weather, but i dont want to let them down on the grass, because i'm afraid they will like bolt as fast as they can, but i dont really know how fast that is? like normally they are super slow moving but can they be speedy, enough to get away, anyway?

There is no chance of them "out slithering" you unless you are the slowest person in the world. Cant say i have ever seen a ball bolt away.

LOL...I have. They CAN move pretty fast when they're inclined to do so. Not to say that a healthy person couldn't catch one on the move....but I would suggest not putting it down close to anything like a storm drain or crack in the ground or hole under the house...you get my drift. And never, ever take your eyes off of them even for a second.

Isn't there a risk of pests/disease from letting it out in the grass? Probably not a guarantee that it'll happen any given time, but if you think about dogs...if you let them outside enough without flea/tick protection, odds are good that sooner or later, they're going to pick one or both up.
