    Amazing Garter experience.

Today I was at my uncle's house in Payson (An hour or so North from Scottsdale) and I was walking around his yard with him and talking (he has a HUGE yard..) and we stopped over by this huge pond he made (has tons of gold fish and bull frogs in it with a huge Koi fish) and in the middle of the pond we saw a Garter snake swallowing a big fish so he told me to stay where I was and he ran inside and got his binoculars for a closer look. It was a beautiful Garter snake, eating a fish right in the middle of the pond. That really made my day, no jokes. That's the second wild snake I've ever seen. The funny thing was, earlier while eating breakfast my uncle, mom, my aunt, and I were talking about snakes and my uncle was saying what snakes come into his yard and yet about 20-30 mins after breakfast we found that Garter snake.

At first when I saw it, it looked like a Ribbon or Garter snake, but now I realize it's a Garter. It's either a Common or Western Garter.

I wish I could have seen the snake catch the fish, but still was exciting to see the snake during feeding. :]

Gotta love seeing that, I've always lived out in the country so watching them in the wild is what got me into snakes in the first place

I remember when I caught a texas rat snake in my neighbors front yard. Those things are the devil with scales! Even if you open your fist up in front of him he will open his mouth, hiss, and then strike. God I also felt his bite through the glove. God I was lucky he didn't kill me
